We are committed to conducting live in-person worship services every Sunday morning and Thursday evening throughout the year, regardless of rain, snow, or stormy conditions. In the event of snow, we will ensure that our sidewalks and parking lot are cleared if the accumulation is significant.
Always use your best judgment when deciding whether to travel during inclement weather. Watch your step when walking in the parking lot or on our sidewalks. They could still be icy.
Should the need arise to cancel worship services, the Church Administration will inform worshippers promptly through the following channels:
- TV stations WIBW and KSNT
- Highland Park UMC website
- Facebook - HPUMC Facebook page
Worship Services and Prayer Time
Table and Tabernacle worship services, Sunday services, and Prayer Time will continue to be available online as scheduled.
Small Group Meetings
For updates or cancellations of small group meetings, please check with your small group or committee leader.
Children Programs
All children's programs will be canceled if the US National Weather Service issues a Weather Warning, or if Topeka Public Schools USD 501 shuts down or cancels school or after-school activities.
Community Assistance Programs
Programs like the ICare Food Pantry and Meals on Wheels will not normally operate when the US National Weather Service declares a weather warning or emergency, or when the State of Kansas, Shawnee County, or the City of Topeka announces a Weather Emergency. Contact these agencies directly for the latest information.
