Love, Joy, Peace...
The United Methodist Church forms disciples of Jesus Christ who, empowered by the Holy Spirit, love boldly, serve joyfully, and lead courageously in local communities and worldwide connections.
What to expect
Worship at Highland Park UMC
At Highland Park United Methodist Church, worship is central to our lives. Faith is a personal journey but gathering to praise God and support each other helps us navigate life’s ups and downs. We provide diverse worship experiences to help everyone build a meaningful connection with God.

8:00 a.m. Chapel Service
The early service takes place in our cozy chapel, creating the atmosphere of a small, close-knit congregation. With traditional music and liturgy, it offers a peaceful and reflective space for worship. The service usually lasts around 45 minutes.

10:30 a.m. Blended Worship Service
Our main worship service is held in the spacious Worship Center, adorned with stained glass windows, banners, and crosses that create a reverent atmosphere. This service beautifully combines traditional and contemporary worship elements, featuring organ music, performances by our Praise Band, and—except during summer—a dedicated choir. Whether you dress casually or formally, come as you are. What truly matters is your presence.

Communion
We gather for the Lord’s Supper on the first Sunday of each month during the 8:00 and 10:30 a.m. services and every Thursday at the TNT contemporary service. Everyone is welcome at Christ’s table—membership isn’t needed—because this sacred gift is for all who seek the grace of our Savior.

Bell Choir
Both adults and youth are welcome to join the dynamic Bell Choir, which performs monthly during the 10:30 a.m. service from September through May. Rehearsals take place on Thursday evenings at 6:30 p.m. in the sanctuary. Music reading skills are required to participate, but joy and camaraderie are assured. Led by the dedicated Jeannette Filippi, who has directed for over 30 years, the group consistently inspires with fresh selections each season.

Special Needs
Wireless hearing assistance devices are available in the narthex; simply ask an usher for help when you arrive. Handicap parking is conveniently located on all sides of the church.

Severe Weather Cancellations
We are committed to conducting live, in-person worship services every Sunday morning and Thursday evening throughout the year, regardless of rain, snow, or stormy conditions. In the event of snow, we will ensure that our sidewalks and parking lot are cleared if the accumulation is significant.
Always use your best judgment when deciding whether to travel during inclement weather. Watch your step when walking in the parking lot or on our sidewalks. They could still be icy.
Should the need arise to cancel worship services, the Church Administration will inform worshippers promptly through the following channels:
  • TV stations WIBW and KSNT
  • Highland Park UMC App
  • Facebook - HPUMC Facebook page
