Bell Choir Season Finale
5-24-2026, 10:30 Worship Service
This is the Highland Park UMC Handbell choir season finale. We hope you enjoy these hymns and will look forward to our next season in the fall.
The hymns we will play this Sunday will be:
Always by My Side is an original handbell composition by Jane McFadden, written to express the steadfastness of God’s love and the peace of His constant presence. The piece is based on an accompanying poem and features a gentle, introspective musical style.
Song of the Spirit is an expressive original work for handbells. Derek Hakes crafted the piece with flowing, lyrical lines meant to evoke a sense of gentle movement and spiritual reflection. Hakes has described part of the piece as being inspired by the imagery of “watching the sunset.”
